Spreading Rate 15-16 sq. metres/litre (80-90 sq. yds/gal.) Drying Time Recoatable in four hours. Uses Suitable for the decoration and preservation of interior surfaces. Preparation New and previously painted surfaces should be dry and free from loose and flaking material, dirt, grease, wax and polish, and primed with the appropriate Macpherson primer. Application Supplied ready for use by brush, roller or conventional spray. For airless spray application, thin with up to 20 percent water. For brush or roller application where required by the type of surface thin with up to 10 percent water. On very absorbent surfaces, the first coat may be thinned with up to 20 percent water. Cleaning Clean all equipment with water immediately after use. SPECIFICATIONNew Plaster, Brickwork, CementTo the clean, dry, efflorescent-free surface apply two or three coats of Emulsion depending on choice of colour. Thin as recommended. New Hardboard, Fibreboard, Plasterboard, Etc. To the clean surface apply two or three coats of emulsion depending on choice of colour. Thin as recommended. Previously Emulsion Painted Surfaces Thoroughly wash free of dirt, grease etc., remove all loose flaking areas. Apply two or three coats of emulsion depending on choice of colour. Thin as recommended. N.B. On Vinyl Silk surfaces there is a possibility of cracking, due to differential shrinkage. A coat of Primer Seal is recommended prior to finishing with Vinyl Matt. Previously Washable Distempered Surfaces Ideally, remove all washable distemper. Remove all loose flaking paint by dry scraping and apply one coat of Macpherson's Primer-Seal. This may be followed by two or three coats of emulsion depending on choice of colour. Thin as recommended. If in sound condition, apply the emulsion paint direct. Previously Non-Washable Distempered Surfaces Thoroughly remove all the non-washable distemper. The dry surface should then receive one coat of Primer Seal, followed by two or three coats of emulsion depending on choice of colour. Thin as recommended. Previously Gloss Painted Surfaces Thoroughly wash and etch the surface with wet-and-dry paper. Apply two or three coats of emulsion depending on choice of colour. The application of emulsion over gloss painted surfaces is not recommended where the surface is subject to condensation. Thin as recommended. Wood and Metal Surfaces These surfaces must be prepared with the appropriate primer, for information refer to the specifications on Macpherson's Gloss Finish. OPACITYThe following shades may require an extra coat:06 C 39 Bracken 06 D 43 Sienna 06 E 50 Harvest 10 D 43 Bamboo 10 E 50 Sunburst 12 D 43 Greengage When using the following shades a basecoat is recommended in addition to the specified two finishing coats.
PRECAUTIONSProtect from frost.Do not apply at temperatures below 5 degrees Centigrade. Use only in well ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation during spraying, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Do not breathe vapour spray. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. |
