Available in the full BS 4800 colour range.
Pack Size
5 Litre, 2.5 Litre. (10 Litres in Brilliant White/Magnolia).
Spreading Rate
13-15 sq. metres/litre (70-80 sq. yds/gal.)
Drying Time
Surface dry in 2-3 hours
Recoatable in four hours.
Uses
Suitable for use on interior surfaces where a silk finish is preferred. Do not use on radiators or heated surfaces.
Preparation
New and previously painted surfaces should be dry and free from loose and flaking material, dirt, grease, wax and polish and primed with the appropriate Macpherson primer.
Application
Supplied ready for use by brush or roller. For brush application a 4 inch flat wall brush is recommended. Thinning is not normally required, but on porous surfaces up to 10 percent of water may be added. May be applied by airless spray using diaphragm type equipment.
Cleaning
Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.
SPECIFICATION
New Plaster, Brickwork and CementTo the clean, dry, efflorescent-free surface apply a first coat of Vinyl Silk, thinned with 10 percent water, two further full coats are required.
New Hardboard, Fibreboard and Plasterboard, Etc.
To the clean surface apply a first coat of Vinyl Silk thinned with 10 percent water, followed by one or two coats depending on the choice of colour.
Previously Emulsion-Painted Surfaces
Thoroughly wash down and remove all loose, flaking areas. Apply 2-3 coats of Vinyl Silk depending on choice of colour.
Previously Distempered Surfaces
Thoroughly remove all the non-washable distemper. The dry surface should then receive one coat Primer Seal followed by two or three coats of Vinyl Silk depending on choice of colour.
NB: Allow overnight drying after applying Primer Seal.
Previously Gloss Painted Surfaces
Thoroughly wash and rub down the surface to remove the gloss. Apply two or three coats of Vinyl Silk depending on choice of colour. Do not use over previously gloss painted surface where the surface is subject to condensation. In these instances use Macpherson's Eggshell finish.
Wood and Metal Surfaces
These surfaces must be prepared with the appropriate primer, for information refer to the Specifications on Macpherson's Gloss Finish.

When using the following shades a basecoat is recommended in addition to the specified two finishing coats.

PRECAUTIONS
Protect from frost.Do not apply at temperatures below 5 degrees Centigrade.
Use only in well ventilated areas.
In case of insufficient ventilation during spraying, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Do not breathe vapour/spray.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Keep out of reach of children.
