Perma White Mildew-Proof Exterior Paint is a high-performance, water-based Mildew-Proof paint. It beautifies and protects - resisting fading, cracking and peeling, and the paint will not mildew. Unlike ordinary paint, Perma White is guaranteed to remain free of mildew for five years. In addition to its standard bright, white finish, Perma White can be custom tinted to off-white and pastel shades.
Generic Type
100 percent acrylic water-base exterior paint. Recommended for residential, commercial and institutional use.
Color/Tinting
Perma White Mildew-Proof Exterior Paint is brilliant white but can be custom tinted to pastel shades by adding up to 2 oz. of universal colorant per gallon.
Coverage
400 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth, painted, non-porous surfaces; 300 sq. ft. per gallon on rough, unpainted, porous surfaces (per coat). Application losses will vary according to the porosity of the substrate and the method of application. This should be taken into account when estimat-ing the quantity of product needed.
Surface preparation
Surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove loose or peeling paint and chalky paint residue.
Removing existing mildew.
Mildew is a fungus that feeds on organic matter including wood and most paints. It is both destructive and unattractive. Mildew eventually destroys the matter on which it feeds. It spreads by emitting spores that float through the air and grows best in shaded, humid and warm areas where the air is stagnant. Mildew is usually black and can easily be mistaken for dirt. To identify mildew, apply a drop of household bleach to the discolored area. If the discoloration disappears, it is mildew. Mildew must be removed (killed) before repainting.
To remove mildew, use Zinsser's JOMAX mildew killer and housewash or prepare a solution of 1 part household bleach and 3 parts water. JOMAX will not harm plants or etch (damage) metals.
Protect plants and adjacent surfaces that will be damaged by bleach. Leave solution on the surface for 10 minutes. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. Wear protection to prevent skin and eye contact. Quickly wash off any solution that comes into contact with your skin. Do not mix ammonia or any other cleaning products with the bleach solution.
Recommended Uses
Recommended for application to exterior siding, fascia, soffits, trim, doors and foundations. Not recommended for floors.

Spot Priming
Bare wood, spackling patches, caulked areas and stains should be primed with Zinsser's Bulls-Eye 1-2-3. Spot prime knots and sap streaks with Zinsser's BIN Primer/Sealer.
General Priming
Whole prime new or unpainted cedar, redwood, hardboard, plywood and new vinyl or aluminum and ferrous metals with BullsEye 1-2-3 prior to painting.
Application Methods
Perma White Mildew-Proof Exterior Paint can be brushed, rolled or spray applied. For best brushing performance use quality synthetic bristle brushes.
Application Conditions
Do not apply product if temperature or humidity is outside the following ranges:

Note: Higher temperatures and lower humidity will speed dry-ing. Lower temperatures and higher humidity will slow drying.
Thinning
Use as is. If thinning is necessary for spraying, thin sparingly with clean water. Maintain adequate coverage. Improper coverage caused by over-thinning will effect proper paint performance.
Cleanup
Clean up spills and drips with a wet cloth or rag. Wash application tools in warm, soapy water immediately after use. Follow manufacturer's instructions for cleaning water-based paints from spray equipment.

Precautions
Contains ethylene glycol. May cause eye and skin irritation. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Do not take internally. If swallowed, seek medical attention. Keep out of reach of children.
Warranty
Perma White Mildew-Proof Exterior Paint is guaranteed to be mildew-proof for 5 years from the date of application when 2 coats are applied according to the label directions. While the Perma White film will not mildew, mildew may grow on superficial dirt, grease or other organic materials on the paint. Such mildew should be removed by cleaning the surface. Application of other paints over Perma White nullifies this warranty. All warranties are limited to replacement or refund value of this product with proof of purchase.
