Turn to Stone Paint
Turn to Stone Paint is a ground stone, water-based paint for internal and external use. It can be applied as a normal paint and leaves a hardwearing, weather resistant stone effect finish that not only looks like stone, but feels like stone. Use externally on windowsill's, lintle's, garden ornaments, and other areas of architectural stonework, or internally on plaster or wooden fireplaces etc.We are constantly asked by customers whether Turn to Stone, looks like real stone? We think it is almost impossible to tell the difference! Its available in 8 realistic shades (which can be intermixed) to match the most popular types of stone found in the UK today.
Turn to Stone can be used in many different ways; old and weathered stone/concrete can be rejuvenated or given a new look, areas such as windowsills and lintels, and even much larger areas of architectural stonework. DIY projects to refinish plaster or wood fireplaces, restore or alter the appearance of garden ornaments, pots, planters and stone features. It is also a cost effective alternative to dressed stone on larger landscaping projects.
Application: Prepare all surfaces properly. Fill any chipped or broken areas with Decor fill two part filler. Ensure all surfaces are sound and dry. Abrade all smooth glossy surfaces, or existing coatings to provide a key. Apply one coat of Turn to Stone Primer/Basecoat (see link to the right), then overcoat with 2-3 applications of Turn to Stone Paint following the manufacturers instructions (thin applications are better). Do not apply when application and drying temperatures are likely to fall below 10°C. Coverage: Approximately 2.5 square meters per litre per coat.
Turn to Stone Paint (also known as Stonelux Stone Paint, or Stonelux Windowsill Paint) is available in 1 litre and 2.5 Litre sizes in the following shades White Limestone, Grey Limestone, Buff Sandstone, Rich Buff Sandstone, Magna Sandstone, Red Sandstone, Deep Red Sandstone, and Grey Slate Stone.
