J H Ratcliffe's Emulsion Glaze Coat
J H Ratcliffe's Emulsions Glaze Coat is a specialist water-borne sealer for protecting wallpaper and emulsion paint etc. enabling the protected surface to be easily wiped clean. Quick drying, colourless, transparent and non-yellowing, one of its most popular uses is to protect wall finishes which have been applied below the dado rail from small grubby fingers and paws, allowing them to be easily cleaned (the walls that is... not the grubby fingers or paws!). It is also recommended for use as a protective finish over J H Ratcliffe's Transparent Oil Glaze.All surfaces must be clean dry and free from grease before applying. Cissing may occur on mid-sheen to high gloss surfaces but may be overcome by either; Washing the surface with a little detergent and water, rinsing with clean water, and applying Ratcliffes Emulsion Glaze Coat whilst the surface is still wet, OR; Lightly abrading the surface with a fine grade abrasive or denibbing pad to provide a key.
Always apply to a test area first, and allow to dry, especially over dark colours or wallpapers with low contrast patterns to ensure the end result will be satisfactory. A very slight 'milkyness' may be apparent, especially with Ratcliffes Emulsion Glaze Coat Matt finish.
Apply 1 or 2 coats as required to achieve an even sheen finish. Ensure fully dry before overcoating, allow a minimum of 2 hours between coats. Coverage approximately 8-10 squre meters per litre. Coverage may vary depending in substrate. Not recommended for use in areas which may be subject to high humidity or condensation i.e. Bathrooms and Kitchens.
Ratcliffes Emulsion Glaze Coat is available in 2.5 Litre size only, in Gloss, Eggshell and Matt finishes.
