Sikkens Rubbol BL Gloss

Sikkens Rubbol BL Gloss is a new water-borne opaque gloss finish for suitably primed and previously painted interior surfaces. Sikkens Rubbol BL Gloss is a direct replacement for traditional solvent-borne gloss finishes. Rubbol BL Gloss provides an excellent water-borne gloss level, with outstanding gloss retention. Good leveling characteristics, incredible non-yellowing properties and superb abrasion resistance.

At last Sikkens have launched their interior range of water-borne trim paints, to replace traditional solvent-borne trim coatings. What can we say, they are incredible, knocking the spots off anything else currently on the market, the range consists of Sikkens Rubbol BL Gloss (Gloss finish - White only), Sikkens Rubbol BL Satura (Satin finish), Sikkens Rubbol BL Magura (Matt finish), and later next year Sikkens BL Azura (Water-borne polyurethane based Gloss finish - colours).

On bare timber, or sound previously wood stained / painted timber Sikkens recommend using 1 coat of Sikkens Rubbol BL Primer, followed by 2 coats of Sikkens Rubbol BL Gloss. However we prefer to substitute their primer, for one from Zinsser's range such as Zinsser Bulls Eye 123.

Touch dry in 4 hours, and recoatable in 7-8 hours. These times are based on a temperature of 20°C, normal relative humidity and good drying conditions. Coverage approximately 10-12 square meters per litre. Available in 1 litre tins in White only.
