Classidur Modern Plus

Classidur Modern Plus is a unique, totally flat matt, one-can interior renovation coating for problem wall and ceiling painting projects. Classidur Modern Plus is based on a unique solvent-based polymerised resin binder, yet it is odour free and non yellowing.

Although a relatively expensive product, it offers a real cost saving solution for specifiers and contractors on unusual or difficult interior renovation projects. It's unique formulation dries and cures with Zero tension, enabling it to directly coat sound, dry surfaces such as plaster, concrete, mortar, chalking materials, distemper, limewash, whitewash, as well as substrates stained with nicotine, soot, dried water and fire/smoke damage. Substrates which could not normally be coated without substantial removal and/or preparation costs.

It's excellent stain covering characteristics easily hold back and block these sorts of stained or dirty surfaces from discolouring the finished paint film. Its very high vapour permeability minimises the risk of moisture changes within the fabric of the building, enabling it to continue 'breathing'. Its high abrasion resistance makes it ideal for use on walls (as well as ceilings) as a complete primer and finish in one-can.

Classidur Modern Plus is used throughout the UK and Europe on renovation projects within historical properties, churches and listed buildings (Use Classidur Tradition in cold and humid environments where mould growth is likely as it incorporates an active biocide).

Preparation: Substrate must be sound and dry. Any flaking material must be removed. Preparation of the substrate not normally necessary. No need for any washing down, primer or undercoat. Apply by brush, roller (medium pile synthetic) or airless spray. Thinning: White spirit if neccessary (odourless White spirit is recommended).
Application: 1 or 2 coats, depending on the condition of the substrate. The second coat should be applied 12 to 24 hours after the first (traditional method), or as soon as the first coat has turned matt (in this case a trial on a small unobtrusive patch is advised).

Coverage approximately 11 square meters per litre, this may vary depending on the porosity and profile of the substrate. Touch dry approximately 2 hours. Fully dry/cured overnight. These times are based on a temperature of 20°C, normal relative humidity and good drying conditions.

Note: Classidur Modern Plus must NOT be recoated with any other solvent-borne coating. Note: If used over stained/dirty surfaces it may only be recoated with Classidur Modern Plus.
