Polyvine Pre-tinted Traditional Oil Scumble

Polyvine Pre-tinted Traditional Oil Scumble is a new pre-tinted semi-paste traditonal solvent-borne transparent oil glaze, with extended drying times to maintain your wet edge, and allow longer working times. Dries to a translucent gloss finish.

Use for producing wood graining and broken colour effects. The final shade achieved will be affected by the products consistancy at the time of application. This product now replaces Ratcliffe's Scumble which has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

It is not intended for use as a clear protective film. Once the coating has dried (minimum of 16 hours), the finish should be protected with at least two coats of varnish. Do not use polyurethane varnish on exterior work. Polyvine suggest using their Extra Pale Varnish Eggshell or, Extra Pale Varnish Eggshell Dead Flat for exterior use.  Due to its traditional formulation it has a natural tendency to yellow slowly on ageing and in conditions of darkness, or, yellow rapidly at elevated temperatures (e.g. radiators, hot water pipes).

Drying time approximately 24 hours minimum. These times are based on a temperature of 20°C, normal relative humidity and normal drying conditions. Do not apply if temperatures are below 10°C, especially in areas of low ventilation. Theoretical coverage 10-20 square meters per litre.
