Ardenbrite Metallic Paint
Ardenbrite Metallic Paint has enjoyed a reputation as the finest metallic paint available since its establishment in 1927. It is ideal for the redecoration of theatres, churches, museums, civic buildings, hotels, restaurants, public houses etc. where a distinctive decorative effect is required. It is suitable for use on metalwork, plaster, paper, wood, plastic, ceramic, previously painted and Cementitious areas.Ardenbrite Metallic Paint is also suitable for painting bridges, lifts, lamp posts and balustrading as well as domestic items such as plasterwork, radiators, doors, iron gates and fencing. Overcoat with 2 coats of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze when used outdoors, or, one liberal coat of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze for internal areas where the finished surface is likely to handled or knocked. Use Ardenbrite QD Base Coat as a primer and adhesion promoter where necessary.
The fast drying formulation enables the system to be applied quickly with minimum disruption and provides an excellent alternative to traditional methods of gilding - the Sovereign Gold colour is established as the only acceptable substitute for gold leaf, is easily applied and at a fraction of the cost. Apply by Brush, Roller or Spray. Approx coverage is 12 square meters per litre.

Non-porous substrates: e.g. previously painted etc. (if existing surface/coating is hard/glossy, abrade before application). Apply 1 coat of Ardenbrite QD Basecoat, then 2 coats of Ardenbrite Metallic Paint (finish system with 2 coats of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze when used on External Projects).
Porous substrates: e.g. plaster, wood, cement, render etc. Seal with 1 coat of Ardenbrite QD Basecoat thinned by upto 10% with clean water, then 2 coats of Ardenbrite Metallic Paint (finish system with 2 coats of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze when used on External Projects).
Bare ferrous metal substrates: e.g. steel etc. Prime with a ferrous metal primer. Apply 1 coat of Ardenbrite QD Basecoat, then 2 coats of Ardenbrite Metallic Paint (finish system with 2 coats of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze when used on External Projects).
Bare galvanised steel substrates: e.g. steel etc. Prime with a galvanised metal primer. Apply 1 coat of Ardenbrite QD Basecoat, then 2 coats of Ardenbrite Metallic Paint (finish system with 2 coats of Ardenbrite Protective Glaze when used on External Projects).
