Fossa Brass wire wool is only available in a coarse grade. Used for similar preparatory tasks as coarse steel wool, but it has the added advantage of avoiding the rust problems caused by broken steel filaments which can later rust - particularly on exterior projects, and in marine environments.
Fossa Brass wire wool is not magnetic and is preferred for use around sensitive equipment which may otherwise be affected, it also minimises the risk of sparks. Fossa Brass wire wool is also preferred for preparing Oak timbers, where Oak's natural tannic acid would otherwise react with steel wool, turning black, due to the formation of iron tannate.
Available in 100 gram plain flow wrapped plastic packs. Fossa Brass wire wool has sharp cutting edges, always wear suitable protective gloves. Do not tear wool, use scissors.
