This is the Original - highly effective - MEKO formulation Brush Mate Fluid (NOT the new formula). It's formulated for use with the BrushMate Trade 20 Paint Brush Storage System. This fluid was discontinued for a while, but now we've brought it back.

The clear liquid evaporates very slowly, producing a powerful heavier-than-air solvent vapour that fills the container, preventing your wet paint brushes drying out. It does this by preventing the solvent evaporation and film formation of oil-based or alkyd paints and varnishes. The Original Brush Mate Fluid allows you to store wet paint brushes used with these coatings for many months.
Under normal temperatures and useage you can expect to replace the 250ml bottle of fluid in your Trade 20 every 2-3 months, however if the Trade 20 is subjected to higher temperatures (i.e. stored in a vehicle) evaporation rate of the fluid may be higher. To minimise fluid use follow these points:
- Ensure the lid is properly in place at all times except when removing or replacing brushes.
- Preferably only remove lid in still air conditions.
- Whenever possible store your Trade 20 in a cool, draught free position.
- Avoid keeping your Trade 20 in a place where there are large variations in temperature.
This is the old formula Brush Mate fluid (MEKO formulation) which is available in a 250ml bottle, sold in singles and bulk packs containing 6 bottles.
