Rustins Metal Lacquer is a clear, UV-resistant lacquer, which forms a non-yellowing, non-crazing protective film with excellent adhesion to chrome, brass, copper, and silver. Prevents discolouration caused by oxidisation and tarnishing. Eliminates cleaning; ideal for ornaments, door furniture, letterplates, and trophies. Preserves shine on brass, copper, chrome, bronze, silver, aluminium, and most polished metals.
Application: Remove old lacquer with Paint & Varnish Stripper. Clean/polish with a metal polish; remove residue with warm soapy water and dry with lint-free cloth/paper towel. Shake well. Apply a minimum of 2 coats for best protection. Best applied in warm, dry weather. Avoid damp and/or cold weather. Brush on quickly/evenly with soft brush. Re-coatable in a minimum of 2-3 hours (good conditions). Cleaning: Clean brush in cellulose thinners. Theoretical Coverage: 11-12 square meters per litre/per coat. Note: Not suitable for ferrous metal, mild steel or stainless steel.
Rustins Metal Lacquer is sold in resealable glass bottle in 125ml size, sufficient for coating up to 0.5 square meters with two coats.
