Ardenbrite Metallic Paint has enjoyed a reputation as the finest metallic paint available since its establishment in 1927. Finally after a period of research, Ardenbrite have launched a new range of water-borne metallic paints.
Manufactured in the Ardenbrite tradition, using genuine ground metal powders to produce the most realistic effect possible. It's new water-based formulation is quick drying, virtually odour free and easier to use than Ardenbrite Traditional Metallic Paint. Producing a lustrous bright metal finish on virtually any interior surface, it can also be used on exterior surfaces, although we tend to suggest the alternative full solvent-borne Ardenbrite system for external projects.
Ardenbrite Water-borne Metallic Paint is ideal for the redecoration of public buildings where a classical decorative effect is required. It is suitable for use on metalwork, plaster, paper, wood, plastic, ceramic and previously painted surfaces.

Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean, dry and free from contamination. Bare porous surfaces: (eg plaster, concrete, plywood, MDF etc.) Prime and seal first with a suitable primer. Previously painted or hard/glossy surfaces: lightly abrade before application to provide a key. Non-porous surfaces: (e.g. ceramics, non-ferrous metal, radiators etc.) prime first with a suitable primer such as a modern adhesion promoting primer like Zinsser Bulls Eye 123. Bare ferrous metal: (eg Steel) Prime first with a suitable anti-corrosive primer.
Application
For best results apply 2 coats of Ardenbrite Water-borne Metallic paint. Apply by brush, roller or spray. On large areas the best results are obtained by spray application where the product should be thinned approximately 10% with clean water.
Theoretical coverage 10 square meters per litre. Practical coverage may vary depending on the porosity and profile of the substrate. Touch dry in 1 hour, and hard dry in 4 hours. These times are based on a temperature of 20°C, normal relative humidity and good drying conditions. Do not apply if temperatures are below 10°C, especially in areas of low ventilation.
Available in 250ml cans only, in Light Gold, Antique Gold and Silver colours.
