Bartoline Multi Purpose Powder Filler is a good quality, no nonsense, easy to mix and simple to use white interior filler. Ideal for preparing surfaces by filling cracks and holes in walls, ceilings, around door frames and skirting boards. Suitable for use on plaster, plasterboard, wood, brick, stone and similar substrates.
It has good adhesive properties to keep the filler firmly in position and sets hard enough to take nails or screws. It also provides a smooth white surface for overpainting or wallpapering, which resists shrinkage, and is easily sanded when dry. (Note: Can be used outside providing it is sealed with an oil-based paint, but we generally don't recommend this).
Preparation: Surfaces should be prepared to be coherent, sound, dust free and dry. Moisten absorbant surfaces with clean water. Mixing: Use a clean mixing tub. Add approximately 2.5 parts filler to 1 part water (by volume), until you achieve a smooth, stiff paste. A stiffer mix is better for deeper fills - it dries faster with less shirnkage. Application: Apply with a filling knife or float, and smooth off slightly proud of the surface. When dry rub down with abrasive. Working time: Approx 40 minutes.
Bartoline Multi Purpose Powder Filler is packaged in handy 1.5kg bags to avoid wasteage. It's supplied in a full 9kg sack containing 6 x 1.5kg bags. We also split the sack, and supply in single 1.5g bags to save you money. The split sack bags do not come with instructions (but we've provided the packaging instructions in the product images)
