Fossa Extended Wet Edge BLOCK & BOND is the NEW FORMULA Extended Wet Edge version of the very popular original Block and Bond. Some decorators asked for a formulation with a longer open time, and here it is.
A white, shellac based, Methylated Spirits borne primer, sealer and stain blocker for interior use only. It dries really quickly, touch dry in just 20 minutes, and overcoatable with any decorative paint in under 1 hour*, allowing you to continue your decorating project with minimal delay.

It offers really excellent adhesion on prepared glossy surfaces - like previously gloss painted surfaces - without needing to abrade surfaces to provide a key. However it’s recommended that varnished surfaces should still be very lightly abraded to provide a key, as some modern varnishes can contain Teflon-type low-friction additives.
Fossa Extended Wet Edge BLOCK & BOND seals surfaces - very effectively blocking stains such as water stains, smoke & fire damage, marker pen etc, whilst also sealing in smells and odours. It blocks extractive from knots staining through the paint coating film (but won't stop resin exudation itself).
Preparation: Surfaces should be properly prepared, clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, grease, or anything else which will interfere with the adhesion of the coatings to be applied. Remove any loose or defective paint. Application: Stir well before use, suitable for application by synthetic brush/roller, or airless spray. Apply evenly and avoid over spreading. Touch dry: 20 mins. *Overcoat: 55 mins @ 20 deg C. Theoretical coverage: 15 square meters per litre/per coat. Coverage will be reduced depending on the profile and porosity of the substrate. After use: Replace lid firmly, and store upright, secure during transit. Clean equipment immediately after use with Methylated Spirits. Dispose of responsibly. Do not empty into drains or water courses.
