Delivery Service and Charges

Mainland UK Deliveries

We offer free delivery on all orders delivered within the UK Mainland. For orders valued below £45 (inc VAT), we make a charge of £4.45 (including VAT) to cover packing and handling costs. The vast majority of our orders are delivered within 2-3 working days within the UK mainland (Highlands and Islands can take a bit longer).

Within lowland areas of the UK mainland, most regular sized items are sent on a next-working-day courier service. Heavy, or bulky items are usually sent on a slower 48-72 hour courier service (bulk drums of paint, ladders, coving, cornice etc.). Highlands, and island destinations tend to take longer.

We advise customers not to book contractors, or begin any work on their projects, until they have received all the items required to complete their projects. This generally avoids disruption caused by the receipt of damaged items, or missing items, and allows you time to resolve any additional technical difficulties.

The delivery address which you provide at the time of placing your order must be either:

  • the cardholders address (as shown on your card statement), or, an additional address registered with your card issuer, although you will need to inform us of this, (most card issuers will allow you to register multiple addresses with your card, this is helpful for students, or persons who live away from home for long periods of time).
  • an alternative business address which we can verify (such as your place of work).

We'll send you an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your order within 3 hours during our normal working hours (Mon - Fri 9:00-16:30). Your contract to purchase the items on your order is not complete until we send you an e-mail notifying you that your order has been despatched to you.

Deliveries take place Monday - Friday (excluding bank holidays). Unfortunately we are unable to specify a particular delivery date or time. We do not deliver on a Saturday or Sunday. All orders require a signature upon delivery, we are therefore unable to accept instructions to leave items without a signature. If you're unlikely to be in during the day, consider having your order delivered to your place of work, or another business address where somebody will be able to accept and sign for it.

You will receive a confirmation of despatch by email if you have provided us with a valid email address. Please check your order carefully as soon as it's been delivered, and ensure that you store the items you have ordered, in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. A combined VAT invoice/delivery note will be sent with your order, you can find it either inside the box, or stuck to the outside of the box (in a documents enclosed wallet).

UK Offshore Islands and Republic of Ireland delivery service

We are unable to ship some chemicals, liquids and flammable products outside of the UK mainland, although most other non-hazardous and non-liquid goods can be shipped to the Republic of Ireland and UK Offshore Islands (Northern Ireland, Isle of Skye, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight etc.) without any problems. Shipping charges to these destinations are quoted on an individual basis. Please select the items you wish to order, and proceed through the checkout process as normal. We'll email you a shipping quotation within 3 hours (during our normal opening times, Mon - Fri 9:00-16:00). You'll then need to confirm by email, whether or not you have accepted our quotation. We won't charge your card, or proceed with your order until we've received your acceptance instructions.

We do not operate an International Delivery Service i.e. to the USA, France etc.
