WRX Masonry Paint is a really superb, premium, water-based, pure acrylic emulsion paint, with a smooth semi-matt finish. Engineered with an advanced ultra-silicone formulation, this high-performance, and dirt resisting, masonry paint delivers excellent coverage, with easy application.
It is specifically designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and alkali attack, ensuring long-lasting durability. Its superior breathability allows trapped moisture to escape from the substrate while preventing water ingress from outside. It's UV resistance, combined with exceptional adhesion, resists cracking, flaking, and peeling for years. Featuring the latest pigment technology, WRX Trade Masonry Paint maintains its vibrant colour and appearance even after prolonged exposure to the elements. The ideal choice for transforming all exterior masonry surfaces.
It's available to collect TODAY in white, or tinted in 7.5litre size only to ANY British Standard, RAL, NCS, Little Greene or Farrow & Ball colour in just a few minutes after ordering.
How to order Mixed Colours...
Just select either Mixed Pale Colours, or Mixed Mid-Deep Colours from the drop-down box (examples of pale or mid-deep are shown below the product photo - as pale colours use less pigment - so the price is lower), then send us an email to enquiries@decoratingdirect.co.uk containing the colour and reference code you would like your WRX Trade Durable Matt to be tinted to, or, simply specify your colour in the comments box after you have confirmed your Click and Collect order.
We won't start mixing your paint until after you have arrived and have paid for your order at our Middlesbrough warehouse - so there is no commitment from you to go ahead with mixing your paint, until you are completely happy. And we'll also let you know before you set off - if you've made the wrong pale/mid-deep selection.
Suitable Surfaces
Sound dry exterior surfaces including: brick, rendered walls, roughcast, pebbledash, stone, concrete, building blocks, facing bricks, cement and construction boards, fiberglass utility meter cupboards, and previously painted surfaces. Not suitable for direct application to common, Fletton or engineering type bricks. If in doubt seek advice.
Surface Preparation (Poor preparation will result in poor performance!).
Always read and follow the manufacturers instructions on the container. All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from anything which will interfere with the adhesion of the coatings to be applied. Surfaces must be completely through-dry before painting.
We always advise customers to hire a pressure washer (minimum 2000 psi), for the easiest and best mechanical preparation of your masonry painting project. This will remove all loose and flaking paint, powdery surfaces, vegetable growth, and spores - in one go. Allow to fully dry.
If you've chosen not to use a pressure washer, you'll need to manually prepare surfaces. Removing all loose or flaking material by scraping, scrubbing and brushing with a stiff bristle brush. Remove all visible vegetable growth, and treat surfaces to kill fungal growth or mould/spores with a proprietary fungicidal wash (or you can treat surfaces with a simple 10% bleach solution, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water, and allow to dry). Lightly abrade glossy surfaces to provide a mechanical key. Repair defects. Chalking or powdery surfaces should be brushed down and then treated with a clear stabilising solution. Avoid inhalation of dust - wear a suitable face mask when brushing/dry sanding (pre 1960's paint coatings may contain lead).
Prepared bare porous surfaces should be primed with one coat of masonry paint thinned with up to 30% clean water, to satisfy the porosity on hot surfaces exhibiting suction. Bring forward all primed areas with one full coat of masonry paint.
Application Conditions
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or frost, or if the temperature will fall below 8 degrees C during application or drying, or in damp humid conditions. Stir thoroughly before and during use. May be thinned with up to ten percent clean water if required.
Application
Apply by brush, exterior roller (Fossa Enduro Masonry Roller recommended), or airless spray. Load tools generously and apply evenly. A trial application in an inconspicuous area to confirm colour is ALWAYS recommended. Always box (mix) tins together before use, to ensure colour consistency on large surfaces. Apply two coats (recommended) on prepared surfaces to be decorated. Additional coats may be needed over dark colours or highly absorbent surfaces. Certain pigment colours - like very bright yellows - are semi-transparent to visible light and may require additional coats. For airless application, Pressure: 140 bar, Nozzle angle: 50 deg, Nozzle size (inch):0.017in - 0.019in. Thinning: It can be thinned up to 10% with clean water if required.
Coverage
Theoretical coverage: up to 14 square meters per litre depending on surface texture and porosity. Practical coverage: Reduced by at least 20%, but could be much less on highly porous, or textured surfaces such as pebbledash or block work. A 7.5 litre container will cover up to 83 square meters per coat at a coverage rate of 11 square meters per litre.
Drying Times Normal Conditions
Touch dry in as little as thirty minutes. Recoatable when dry, usually between 3-6 hours. High humidity or low temperatures will extend drying times.
Cleanup
Remove excess paint from tools before washing with warm soapy water. Do not pour residues into drains or watercourses. Follow local regulations for waste paint disposal.
Storage
Store upright and secure in a cool dry frost free area protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store below five degrees C or above forty degrees C. Keep container tightly sealed. VOC content: Low (0.30-7.99%)
